Hi! Please post any Veterinarians you know that are using the Deslorelin Implants. Any extra information would help also such as general cost if known and how they prefer to do it as in do they insist on putting the ferret under anesthesia first. Thanks!

Birds and Exotics 814 Johnnie Dodds Blvd Mt Pleasant, SC
They ask 180 for the implant itself and then something like 60 for the anesthesia.

Dr. Factor West End Vet Clinic westendvetoffice.com/41 Fullerton Rd Newburgh NY 12550 Total cost, about $500. Includes anesthesia, exams, and lupron shot. He insists on giving a lupron shot a month before the implant to test if the ferret has a reaction. He believes in giving the implants for adrenal prevention every 18 months. So the second implant won't be as much, since you don't need the lupron shot. The lupron shot is $100.

Wow! An implant over there is really expensive! In the Netherlands, every vet is allowed to order and implant a ferret as is is registered. When it was introduced in 2005, it costs 69 euro (about 85 dollar). But the price depends on the vet and the clinic. I'll add her the two vets who knows the most about the implant, although I think its a bit too far away .
